Thanks for your reply to my post.
I got Simba believe it or not through a newspaper ad! Poor boy was 1 1/2 years old. A couple had bought him from a breeder and had never had a cat before. He was pretty socially deprived and still being fed kitten food. They had a baby that was a couple of months old and they did not want to keep the cat with the baby. When we got him home he was very bitey. They had not taught him how not to bite hands. It took a few months to get that behavior under control. They also had never trimmed his claws. That is still a battle today to get done, but has improved quite a bit. Today he is eating a healthy diet, he is about 20 lbs, about 5 more than we got him at. He is 5 years old today. He absolutely loved his dad, but he loves mom too. But you can see him light up when dad comes home. The other people said he was not very affectionate, but he is quite a love bug with us. Like any cat, it is when he is ready. They just didn't know what a wonderful cat they had. Our Bengals we bought from a local TICA breeder. We had gone through a hard time. We had a dog (sheltie) for 16 years, she developed liver cancer, then a cat we had for 16 years also came down with cancer in his upper abdomen and our cat of 17 years had kidney failure. This all happened in a years time. We went a few months and both of us could not stand not having a furry family member in our house. So I had always been curious about the beautiful Bengals so we sought our a local breeder. We picked them out when they were 10 days old. Our breeder let us come visit them as often as we wanted and brought them home at 12 weeks. |

Hi Loki...my you sure are fluffy and soft looking!
Do you get brushed a lot?? We have no more long haired cats here anymore. Punkin, our Angel, was a Himalayan, but he went to the Bridge last May. Welcome to Cathugger. i hope youre having fun here. ![]() |

Actually , most of the year our fur does not require much brushing . It is silky and mat-free. However in the spring we molt and can mat if you turn your back!!
We are having good fun so far!! |
