Wow. We get so used to the way we view cats and dogs (and other creatures) as beloved pets. Then in some countries, like Viet Nam, they eat them as food. We are so blessed to have nice, furever homes!

there is an organization called Nowzad in Afghanistan. It raises funds to send both cats and dogs to Europe and the US. It is the only animal shelter in Afghanistan. It is not just because it is a war zone--the pet concept hardly exists there.

I'll be there are a lot of poor kitties to rescue from Afghanistan! I've often wondered what happens to pets during a war or in a war zone.

no, there is no point, when there must be many cats around you that need a home. But some animals are sent from India, and now most of the rescues from Afghanistan.

I wish so, too. But could you imagine the cost of shipping a cat from India to Arizona? Our of this world! But thank you for the thought.
