Kody Dream Boat #153
Posted March 16, 2016 by Kody Dream Boat #153
Hi ya all, been a long time since I have been able to get on here. So many things have happened around here, mostly sadness and sickness.

Now I have to let you all know that I got blocked again in December, ended up at the vet ER for 3 days, they pulled the catheter to see if I could pee on my own, I did, but then I got all blocked again. That was the fifth time, twice at the vet...so Mom and Dad had to make the decision to have me go to surgery.

I was at one ER, then Mom and Dad had to pick me up and take me to their other ER further away. I had my surgery to reconstruct my manly part to keep me from getting blocked again, the surgery was on the 19th of December.

Mom was worried of course, but I did great, I had all my fur removed from my back end and some of my tail...sure was embarrassing to have me all exposed. I got to come home on the 21st, had to wear the cone of shame for a month and had to stay in a big cage that mom put in her room. Of course with the litter box in with me I always made a mess and with the mess I had to lay in the litter at night, so of course it caused me to have litter in my incision, I got irritated and had to keep the cone on longer. I am all healed now of course, doing well and so happy to be home and out of my cone and cage.

Mom is so happy she has insurance for me, it was over $6,000 for my 3 days before surgery, surgery and my care afterwards. We got most of that money back thank goodness.

Mom still has to give me special food as much as she can, sometimes I don't want to eat it. I can get urinary infections, but mom is hoping I don't, but she doesn't have to worry that I will get blocked and have to go to ER anymore.

Now Mom is dealing with our doggie Mia, she has been very sick, loosing weight even though she ate all the time. She had an endoscopy and ultra sound done and we now know she has Inflammatory bowl disease with regurgitation. She is on all kinds of medication, has to eat small meals 4 times a day, Mom has to hold her up while she eats, then sits with her up in her arms to help keep her food down...Mom says she feels like that is all she does now is feed Mia. She is finally gaining some weight back, slowly. Mom and Dad thought they would loose Mia she was so sick and bony.

I do feel better and Mom is happy, me too....
